The fatal crash occurred at 10:26 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9, according to New Jersey State Police.
Andres Hernandez-Creamadel, 19, was driving east at milepost 23.4 in Hamilton Township when he veered off the road to the right and struck a tree, State Police said.
Hernandez-Creamadel, of Atlantic City, and his passenger died of their injuries.
The name of the passenger had not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The crash remains under investigation.
